Hi there! I’m Rachael, a freelance writer, editor and editorial strategist based in the UK.
After living in the U.S, Scotland, and the U.A.E for nearly 30 years, I’ve found myself a beautiful part of England to call home (for now). Besides giving me the privilege of exploring different corners of the world, growing up abroad has shaped who I am as a person and a journalist.
Since entering the publishing industry in the U.A.E, I have loved the fast pace, the daunting deadlines, the challenge of working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment. Over the past decade, I’ve worked for well-known print and digital publications including Devex, What’s On UAE, BBC Good Food ME, Veggie and Health & Wellbeing, covering everything from global development, health equity and sustainability to food, culture, community, arts and travel. I’ve had the privilege of interviewing legends like Jane Goodall, Dame Kelly Holmes and Gary Rhodes; covering live events such as the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix; and managing the Escape the Neglect docuseries with the Gates Foundation. My words have also appeared in National Geographic Traveller FOOD, BBC Countryfile, and Essex Life, among others.
Whether you need a features writer who can nail a brief, a multimedia editor to oversee a digital project, or guidance on creating an editorial strategy that delivers results, I’m here to help!
